Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager is a pivotal role within our retail team, responsible for supporting the Store Manager in daily operations and ensuring the smooth running of the store. This position combines managerial tasks with customer service duties, requiring a leader who can multitask, inspire their team, and create a positive shopping experience for customers. An Assistant Store Manager needs to manage both backend and frontend activities effectively, leading by example to motivate staff and achieve store goals. This dynamic role offers opportunities to develop management skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and requires close collaboration with all team members to drive store success.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and staff activities.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently met across the store.
  • Train, mentor, and develop store staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for stock replenishment.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures at the store level.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase store traffic and sales conversion.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Maintain store appearance, ensuring it is clean, tidy, and well-organized.
  • Support in planning and executing promotional events and merchandising displays.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and make informed business decisions.
  • Assist in managing financials, including budgeting, sales forecasting, and expense control.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the store environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications are a plus.
  • Previous retail or management experience of at least 2 years is required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Proficient in using retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
