Role Purpose

To support the efficient operation of the project store by assisting with the receipt, storage, issuing, and inventory control of construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables. The Assistant Storekeeper ensures materials are handled safely, stock records are maintained accurately, and store operations support uninterrupted project delivery. This role assists the Storekeeper in maintaining inventory accuracy, housekeeping, and compliance with company procedures. 

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist in receiving, inspecting, and unloading materials, ensuring quantities and items match delivery documentation.  
  • Support the safe storage, identification, and organization of materials, tools, and equipment in designated storage areas.  
  • Assist with issuing materials against approved material requests and maintain accurate issue records.  
  • Update inventory records, bin cards, and ERP/store management systems under the guidance of the Storekeeper.  
  • Support daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and assist with inventory reconciliation activities.  
  • Monitor stock levels and report low stock, damaged materials, shortages, or discrepancies to the Storekeeper.  
  • Assist in maintaining good housekeeping standards and ensure materials are stored safely and securely.  
  • Coordinate with site teams for material collection and assist with loading and unloading activities.  
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies during all store operations and report unsafe conditions immediately.  
  • Support the preparation of store reports and maintain accurate filing of delivery notes, GRNs, material requests, and other store documentation.  
  • Assist with the return of surplus materials, tools, and equipment to the central store or suppliers when required.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • High School Certificate or Diploma (preferred).  
  • 2–4 years of experience in a construction or infrastructure warehouse/store environment.  
  • Experience handling construction materials, tools, and equipment is preferred.  
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and material handling procedures.  
  • Ability to accurately maintain stock records and documentation.  
  • Good communication skills in English; Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu would be an advantage.  
  • Physically fit and able to work in outdoor construction and warehouse environments.  
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar inventory management software is preferred.  
  • UAE construction or infrastructure experience is an advantage
