Job Description

The Assistant Nurse plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, specifically within the Outpatient Department (OPD) for Obstetrics and Gynecology. This position is responsible for supporting registered nurses and medical practitioners in providing exceptional care to patients. The Assistant Nurse will interact with patients and family members to help address concerns and relay critical information to the medical team. Responsibilities

  • Assist doctors and nurses in providing care to Ob Gyne patients.
  • Support patients during examinations and provide comfort and reassurance.
  • Prepare and maintain medical instruments and equipment for use.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  • Escort patients to various clinical areas and assist with scheduling appointments.
  • Administer basic first aid and medication under physician supervision.
  • Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing as required.
  • Ensure that the OPD area is clean, sanitary, and welcoming at all times.
  • Communicate with patients regarding their treatment plans and follow-ups.
  • Provide educational resources to patients to promote wellness and recovery.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs and professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Valid qualification as a Nursing Assistant or similar recognized healthcare credential.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role or healthcare setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize with patients.
  • Basic proficiency in computer systems and use of electronic health records.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining composure.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including the availability for shift work.
