Job Description

The Assistant Nurse in the OPD Ob Gyne department plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the healthcare facility and providing excellent patient care. As an Assistant Nurse, you will work alongside doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients in the outpatient department specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. Your responsibilities will include patient interaction, assisting with various medical procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses and physicians in providing patient care in the Ob Gyne department.
  • Prepare and sanitize medical equipment and examination rooms before and after procedures.
  • Record patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical history accurately in electronic records.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families during clinical visitations.
  • Ensure patient comfort and assist in transfer during examinations and treatments.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating patient flow in the department.
  • Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and report items that need replenishment.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers for optimal care delivery.
  • Educate patients about the medical procedures and follow-up care instructions.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control and health and safety protocols in all duties.
  • Assist in patient discharge procedures and provide needed instructions for aftercare.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license or certification as an Assistant Nurse required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in an Ob Gyne or similar environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Empathetic and compassionate disposition towards patient care and their needs.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
