Job Description

As an Assistant Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in supporting the merchandiser in developing, planning, and executing merchandising strategies that maximize sales and profitability. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be critical in ensuring product assortments align with market trends and consumer demands. You will coordinate with buyers, suppliers, and other team members to ensure the right products are available at the right time. Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing seasonal merchandising strategies and product assortments.
  • Conduct regular analysis of sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of merchandise and resolve issues.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform merchandising decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, marketing, and sales departments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentations for internal meetings and vendor negotiations.
  • Support the management of inventory levels to optimize stock availability and turnover.
  • Assist in creating and updating reports to track merchandising performance and KPIs.
  • Participate in product selection processes and suggest key items for promotional activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of product details and supplier agreements.
  • Facilitate communication between store teams and headquarters regarding new product launches.
  • Help organize merchandise for seasonal display setups and promotional events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in merchandising, retail, or buying is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with merchandising software and retail management systems is advantageous.
