Job Description

As an Assistant Merchandiser at our company, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of our merchandising strategy. You will assist in ensuring that our products reach the right markets at the optimal time, in the correct quantities. Your keen eye for detail and understanding of market trends will help you analyze data, forecast sales, and optimize stock levels. In collaboration with senior merchandisers and other departments, you will support in identifying the best suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure maximum profitability. This role demands a proactive individual with strong analytical and communication skills, ready to climb the ladder in the dynamic field of merchandising.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of merchandising strategies that align with sales objectives.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and manage stock levels effectively.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to make informed merchandising decisions.
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand sales trends and customer preferences.
  • Support in evaluating supplier performance and negotiate contracts to achieve cost-effective deals.
  • Prepare and analyze sales reports to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of merchandising plans and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure product ranges meet current fashion trends and customer needs.
  • Ensure that visual merchandising plans are executed efficiently and align with brand objectives.
  • Contribute to regular meetings with the merchandising team to discuss strategies and performance metrics.
  • Help manage inventory through forecasting and planning, ensuring optimal stock levels year-round.
  • Provide administrative support to the merchandising team, including data entry and document management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in merchandising or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaison with vendors and teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data management and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects successfully.
