About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the In Room Dining Department in Dubai, the Assistant Manager will support the In Room Dining Manager in all operational, administrative and financial aspects of the outlet and assumes full responsibility in his/her absence. The Assistant Manager reports to the In-Room Dining Manager.
As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Support the In Room Dining Manager in all operational and administrative aspects and take charge in their absence.
Enforce and constantly monitor operational standards, policies, SOPs, and quality measures.
Oversee daily operations, manage shifts effectively, and ensure well-managed reservations to maximize seating capacities.
Maintain strong relationships and communication with the Chef de Cuisine and team during operation hours.
Ensure accuracy and presentation of all menus and maintain solid Annual Leave and Public Holiday clearance records.
Provide leadership, direction, and support to all outlet colleagues, ensuring customer satisfaction and handling complaints effectively.
As An Assistant Manager, We Expect From You
Hold a High School qualification or equivalent, with a degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management preferred.
Have 3 years of experience as an assistant restaurant manager in a luxury hotel or high-end independent restaurant, and have international work experience in at least two regions (Asia, Europe, North America, and preferably the Middle East).
Demonstrate the ability to understand guest needs and expectations, deliver superior customer service, and motivate the team accordingly.
Possess strong knowledge of HACCP, competent computer skills including MS Office, and practical communication skills with different individuals.
Exhibit strong on-the-job and classroom-style training skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic or other languages preferred).
Be able to empower colleagues, communicate clearly with peers and direct reports, and have a preferred restaurant pre-opening experience.
