Assistant Manager (Equipment)

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct machine evaluations and propose new equipment acquisitions in line with company business objectives.
  • Develop and execute a departmental training matrix; mentor engineers and technicians in advanced troubleshooting.
  • Shift the team from preventive to predictive maintenance by implementing IoT sensors and data-driven monitoring to prevent downtime before it occurs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and lead initiatives to drastically reduce overhead and energy costs.
  • Conduct design for manufacturability analysis within the equipment area to enhance product manufacturability and process efficiency.
  • Liaise with equipment manufacturers regarding the latest technologies and conduct implementation feasibility assessments.
  • Develop and implement the departmental training matrix to ensure team competency.
  • Generate and maintain equipment operating procedures and comprehensive maintenance plans.
  • Establish equipment validation protocols, oversee the validation, review and approval of all validation reports
  • Propose and implement strategic actions to improve manufacturing capabilities, specifically regarding equipment performance and technology.
  • Train subordinates in relevant technical areas to enhance their overall quality of work and professional growth.
  • Participate actively in lean six sigma program to optimize manufacturing equipment performance and reduce waste.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the PCBA manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with SMT equipment.
  • Supervisory experiences in Equipment Maintenance engineering preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the PCBA manufacturing industry and equipment validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) preferred.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of Fuji SMT placement machines and related peripherals.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with CFT to identify issues and provide robust technical solution.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and Google Workspace.
