Job Description

An Assistant Manager – Accounts Receivable plays a crucial role in the financial health of a company by overseeing the collection of payments from clients and customers. This role requires a professional who can lead a team, ensure accurate processing of transactions, and maintain strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders. The Assistant Manager acts as a bridge between the accounting department and customer service, ensuring that all invoicing and collection activities are executed smoothly and efficiently. This position demands a strategic thinker who can develop and implement policies to optimize accounts receivable processes, enhance cash flow, and minimize bad debt risks. It also involves regular reporting and analysis to guide decision-making and support the overall financial strategy of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the accounts receivable team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Develop and implement efficient invoicing and collection strategies and processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and account updates.
  • Monitor customer accounts to review payment status and identify overdue balances.
  • Negotiate repayment plans with customers and manage any collection issues.
  • Prepare regular financial reports on accounts receivable status and performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and communication.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and advise on risk management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulations.
  • Effectively resolve any customer disputes or billing inquiries that arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection and receivable activities.
  • Support audits and provide necessary documentation and insights as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management or similar financial roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently.
  • Experience with ERP systems and related financial applications is preferred.
