The Assistant Laundry Manager is responsible for supporting the Laundry Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the luxury garment care department. The role focuses on garment assessment, quality control, staff development, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, production planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The incumbent will ensure the highest standards of garment care are maintained while supporting business growth, operational excellence, and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Luxury Garment Assessment & Care
Possess in-depth knowledge of luxury garments, designer brands, couture wear, and high-end textiles.
Assess garment construction, fabric composition, embellishments, trims, and brand-specific care requirements.
Analyze garment value and determine appropriate laundry, dry-cleaning, wet-cleaning, stain removal, or hand-washing processes.
Identify fabric structures, colors, care labels, and potential processing risks.
Provide recommendations on garment treatment methods and risk management.
Guide and support teams in garment assessment, stain removal, washing, dry-cleaning, spotting, and finishing processes
Quality Assurance & Operational Control
Conduct regular spot checks on garment assessment, processing, finishing, and quality control activities.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs and luxury garment care standards.
Monitor garment quality throughout the production cycle.
Lead complaint investigations and root cause analysis.
Implement corrective and preventive actions through coaching and training.
Ensure customer garments are handled with maximum care and attention to detail.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
Assist in managing daily workforce activities and departmental performance.
Support staff motivation, engagement, and performance improvement initiatives.
Conduct on-the-job training and coaching programs.
Develop cross-training plans across departments.
Support career succession planning and internal promotions.
Delegate responsibilities effectively to build team capability and leadership readiness.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Operational Planning & Productivity
Support capacity planning and production optimization.
Coordinate manpower, materials, and machine utilization to maximize efficiency.
Monitor departmental KPIs and productivity targets.
Assist in implementing measures to improve operational capacity and workflow efficiency.
Monitor and control operational costs while maintaining service quality.
Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
Inventory & Resource Management
Monitor stock levels and consumption of chemicals, packaging materials, hangers, plastics, and operational supplies.
Coordinate with Purchasing and Marketing departments to ensure uninterrupted stock availability.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to packaging and operational materials.
Monitor inventory control processes and minimize wastage
6.Meetings & Stakeholder Coordination
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date recruitment documentation, including candidate Represent the Laundry Manager during absences, vacations, weekly offs, and management meetings.
Attend and contribute to all the operational meeting with other departments
Coordinate effectively with Operations, Customer Experience, Logistics, HR, Purchasing, Marketing, and Management teams.
Customer & Business Support
Participate in client visits and business development activities.
Support management of B2B customer relationships.
Accommodate visitors and provide professional operational support during site visits.
Ensure customer concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
Compliance, HSE & Continuous Improvement
Support implementation and maintenance of ISO standards and quality systems.
Participate in HSE initiatives and promote a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement and culture change initiatives across the department.
