Job Description

The Assistant Finance Manager will primarily focus on managing banking and cash flow operations, producing analytical financial reports, conducting customer credit assessments, and supporting other finance-related tasks. The role must reflect strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a solid understanding of financial principles and experience in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Banking and Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor daily cash balances and forecast cash flow to ensure liquidity and efficient use of funds.
  • Manage banking relationships and oversee transactions, including fund transfers, trade facilities (including LCs and BGs), foreign exchange, and payment processing.
  • Prepare and maintain short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.


Analytical Reporting

  • Develop and maintain financial reports to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing detailed analysis and insights.


Customer Credit Assessment

  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness by collecting and analysing customer credit reports, reference checks, and other relevant data.
  • Recommend credit limits and terms of payment for new and existing customers.
  • Monitor and manage the credit risk portfolio, ensuring compliance with company policies.


General Financial Analysis

  • Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, and profitability to provide actionable insights to management.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and process efficiency.


Additional Duties

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA, CA, or ACCA) are a plus.


Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in financial analysis in a manufacturing industry.
