The role of an Assistant Finance Manager is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of financial activities within an organization. The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in managing and directing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting strategic financial planning. They work closely with various departments, offering financial insights and analysis to aid in decision-making processes. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to both finance and non-finance team members. The Assistant Finance Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the company, contributing to the overall strategy, budget management, and financial forecasting.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, timing, and completeness of financial records.
  • Analyze financial data and develop necessary insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of financial policies within the organization.
  • Review and enhance accounting control procedures to ensure best practices.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes by supplying required documentation.
  • Manage financial ledgers related to accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely reconciliations.
  • Participate in budgeting processes, providing analysis, documentation, and financial projections.
  • Keep updated with regulatory changes and ensure organizational compliance in financial dealings.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to finance staff and ensure staff development through training.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives by providing financial data and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within financial activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business discipline.
  • Proven experience working in a financial planning or financial analysis role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of finance regulations and legislation compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze financial data effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and aptitude to manage multiple tasks.
  • Leadership capabilities to support and guide a team of finance professionals effectively.
