Job Description

An Assistant Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the finance department and ensuring the smooth financial operations of the organization. This position is critical for aiding in the financial planning, budgeting, and analysis processes. The Assistant Finance Manager acts as a key liaison between finance and other departments, as well as with external auditors and stakeholders. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage large volumes of data effectively. Moreover, the Assistant Finance Manager must stay abreast of financial regulations, market trends, and be proactive in identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Their contributions help in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and developing strategies to optimize the company’s financial performance.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary data for budget planning and analysis.
  • Monitor and manage the organization’s financial accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide support during audits, preparing documentation and explanations as required by auditors.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and offer insights for business strategy development.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Develop financial forecasts and provide decision support through ad hoc reporting.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and resolve any discrepancies noted.
  • Participate in cost analysis and propose cost-saving initiatives to enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate in developing strategies for risk management and business continuity planning.
  • Train finance staff and provide guidance to improve the department's overall efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to optimize finance operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling and analysis software.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and accounting software such as SAP or QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards e.g., GAAP or IFRS.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently.
