Assistant Buyer

Job Title: Assistant Buyer (Lifestyle)

Reports To: Senior Buyer

Main Function: To support and assist the Buyers in delivering the business strategy for our organisation.

This position is open to applicants based in the London area - Working on a hybrid basis (2-3 days in the office).

* Please note, applicants must have experience or be actively working as an Assistant Buyer.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

• Support and assist the Buyers in delivering the Buying strategy for the Business
• Working closely with the Merchandising team and with guidance of BM/Buyer to manage and deliver the strategy for their department
• Ensuring that their department ranges are bought and delivered in time with the Buying Critical Path and within OTB requirements
• Working closely with the merchandising team to achieve target intake margins/sales and profit plan with the direction from BM/Buyer
• Using sales and performance information to suggest areas for maximizing all sales opportunities
• Supporting the BM/Buyer; to help build a commercially viable product range that reflects the schuh brand image and current trends
• Understands market with strong competitor awareness

Suppliers

• Manage supplier critical path to ensure deliveries are on time
• Support the strategic direction of the partnership with all suppliers

Team

• Managing and supporting BAA’s on the team

Wider Business

• Ambassador for the Buying team, working closely with Retail/Marketing/Ecommerce/Merchandising building strong relations with all stake holders

Miscellaneous

• Supporting the Buyers/Buying Manager/HOB/Buying Director in any other areas required
• Ensure all communication adheres to the GDPR policies
• Work with own initiative and as part of the wider team
• Understand and comply with the Company’s Health & Safety policy & procedures
• Carry out any other duties as required by Company management
