Job Description

An Assistant Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of a company. As an Assistant Accountant, you will work closely with senior accountants to prepare and analyze financial data, assist with the creation of financial reports, and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Support the senior accounting staff in various financial tasks and projects.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and process invoices, as well as assist with the accounts payable process.
  • Conduct regular audits and resolve any discrepancies in financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgeting and forecasting financial activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline and improve financial procedures.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards in all accounting activities.
  • Provide support during external audits by preparing required documentation.
  • Assist with tax filings and other statutory financial reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required.
  • Prior experience in an accounting or finance role is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse financial team.
