With a diverse student body of over 870 students from more than 48 nationalities, our school combines a strong sense of community with a commitment to the highest academic standards. As we continue to grow, we are thrilled to announce the opening of our new, purpose-built secondary campus — a state-of-the-art facility designed to further enrich the world-class education we offer across two sites.

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Art / Design & Technology teacher to join our exceptional team, primarily within the secondary phase, with the flexibility and enthusiasm to teach as a specialist in primary where required. If you are ambitious, excited about further developing our thriving Art and Design & Technology provision and want to become part of our high-performing team, this is an opportunity for you to make a difference as you drive the #RoyalStandard.

Job Purpose:

To deliver consistently excellent Art and Design & Technology teaching that inspires creativity, innovation, curiosity and purposeful problem-solving; develops students’ practical, technical, design and critical-thinking skills; and secures strong progress for every learner. • Use assessment effectively to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress and implement timely support or challenge.
  • Contribute to coherent Art and Design & Technology curricula from primary into secondary, including schemes of work, practical resources, assessment and moderation, exhibitions and preparation for future examination and post-16 pathways.
  • Manage materials, equipment and learning spaces responsibly, following all health and safety, risk-assessment and safeguarding requirements.
  • Promote Art and Design & Technology beyond the classroom through exhibitions, displays, clubs, competitions, enterprise, community projects and cross-curricular opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families, contributing actively to pastoral care, professional learning and the wider life of the school.
  • Demonstrate a reflective, solution-focused High-Performance mindset and engage fully in coaching, appraisal and quality assurance.
  • Promote and safeguard students’ welfare and undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role, as directed by the principal.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Successful experience of teaching Art and/or Design & Technology, preferably at secondary level, with the flexibility and confidence to teach primary classes where required.
  • Strong practical and technical knowledge across a range of materials, media, tools, processes and relevant digital technologies, together with secure understanding of workshop and studio safety.
  • The ability to develop students’ creativity, design thinking, visual literacy, problem-solving and critical evaluation.
