Job Description

An Architectural Engineer is a multidisciplinary professional who blends the realms of architecture and engineering to design, construct, and maintain buildings and infrastructure. Their roles go beyond the aesthetics and design aspects associated with architects, as they also focus on the engineering principles necessary to ensure structural integrity and building performance. This position requires a deep understanding of the mechanics of building construction, as well as the ability to leverage technology and materials to create sustainable and efficient urban spaces. An Architectural Engineer collaborates with a range of professionals, including architects, construction teams, and clients, ensuring that structures are not only visually appealing but also safe, functional, and environmentally responsible.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects to integrate engineering systems in building designs.
  • Analyze architectural designs and provide feedback on structural feasibility.
  • Develop detailed engineering plans and specifications for construction projects.
  • Ensure building designs comply with all relevant regulations and codes.
  • Conduct structural analysis to ensure safety and durability of buildings.
  • Liaise with construction teams to oversee project implementation and progress.
  • Use software tools to simulate and optimize architectural and structural designs.
  • Participate in project budgeting and cost-estimation processes with stakeholders.
  • Inspect sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to plans and safety standards.
  • Research and recommend sustainable materials and construction practices.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase to resolve arising issues.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders detailing project progress and findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in architectural or engineering roles.
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
  • Strong understanding of building regulations, codes, and safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on engineering problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with teams and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or similar certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and green building practices is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills are crucial.
