Job Description

An Architectural Engineer is a specialist in designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of construction projects, ensuring structures are safe, functional, and sustainable. Working at the intersection of architecture and engineering, they blend creativity with technology to deliver aesthetically pleasing designs while optimizing the structural integrity and efficiency of buildings. Responsibilities

  • Design and create structural systems that meet client specifications and budget.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software for construction planning and visualization.
  • Coordinate with architects and other engineers to integrate architectural, structural, and technical elements.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Analyze building specifications, codes, and client requirements to ensure structural integrity.
  • Ensure that all designs are environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient.
  • Develop project timelines, budgets, and technical information required for drafting plans.
  • Communicate with construction contractors to ensure project deliverables are met effectively.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and construction documents necessary for contract negotiations.
  • Stay updated with technological advancements in building sciences and engineering practices.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and submittals for both structural components and materials.
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to foster innovative and comprehensive solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or commitment to become licensed.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM modeling tools.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams.
  • Experience with structural analysis and environmental impact assessments is desirable.
