Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Architect to join our team at 18M26. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to contribute to innovative design projects across various scales. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of architectural principles, a keen eye for aesthetics, and the ability to develop designs that are not only functional but also sustainable and economically viable. Candidates should be proficient in using architectural software and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including engineers, contractors, and clients, to bring projects from concept to completion. A proactive approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle project pressures while maintaining a high standard of design and efficiency are essential to thrive in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Develop creative and functional architectural designs aligning with client requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in all project phases, from initial concept to design development and construction documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project goals are met and exceeded.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate potential construction sites and current structures.
  • Utilize CAD and BIM software to create accurate and detailed design plans and models.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive presentations and reports for client and regulatory review.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to incorporate innovative approaches.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, overseeing timelines and costs effectively.
  • Lead and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other consultants to integrate project components seamlessly.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior architects and interns in design practices and project management.
  • Respond proactively to project changes, addressing issues and proposing viable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture; Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in architectural design and project management.
  • Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and sustainable design practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey complex ideas.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Licensure as an Architect or progress towards licensure is highly desirable.
