Job Purpose

The Analytics and Insights department drives data-driven decision-making across the organization by delivering tailored analytics solutions to diverse business units. We collaborate closely with stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights through advanced methodologies, compelling visualizations, and clear narratives. As Analytics & Insights Manager, you will deliver analytics and insights use cases for a diverse range of departments and business stakeholders all whilst furthering the ambitions of the organisation to become information driven, through multiple channels of delivery. Work closely with internal customers to understand their challenges and opportunities and develop information driven solutions that help business leaders understand their data and how it can be used to identify opportunities and solve complex business problems. The Analytics and Insights Manager uses a variety of business and technical skills to deliver bespoke products that ensures data and information provide valuable context that underpins each decision. This role also provides technical leadership within their team to design solutions that are reliable, scalable and empower business to access the data they need, when they need it most.

In this role, you will

  • Manage business engagement from initial problem statement and hypothesis; through identifying ideal methodology, providing oversight on the data collection process, statistical and analytic analysis work to ensure all available information is generated to support business needs.
  • Deliver complex insights use cases in a manner which is accepted by business stakeholders through compelling visualisation and narratives incorporating analytical insight into actionable outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to support in helping define relevant measures, metrics and KPIs, that can be translated into analytical data and information products for root cause analysis and actionable insights.
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports to ensure each team member is empowered with the right business domain knowledge, analytical and statistical skills to ensure robust and timely delivery of insight products.
  • Work with federated analytics communities to improve analytical capabilities of teams in business units to improve self service capability.
  • Create a culture of inclusion across business functions by actively endorsing and participating in community building activities that reinforce this ambition.
  • Cultivate the enterprise ambition of embedding a federated Insights & Analytics (I&A) community to enable the scaled and sustained excellence in all I&A disciplines across functional lines of business.
  • Leverage relevant frameworks that capture relevant data models and business logic and ensure a systematic approach to deliver projects of high value in a timely manner leveraging self-service capabilities where possible.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality and usability are incorporated into each use case, with business ownership embedded into the design and delivery process of each project.

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience in Information Technology (Other).
  • Degree in a Business or Information Technology field from an internationally recognised university.
  • Experience in working with and understanding Data & Analytics tools and platforms including Data Warehouses, data lakes and visualisation toolsets.
  • Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following business domains such as: Customer, Commercial, Operations, Finance, Human Resources etc.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise data warehouse logical data modelling approaches (e.g. 3NF, Data Vault, Star Schema, etc.); experience with associated physical data models is a plus.
  • Working in diverse international teams, at least partially also in large-scale enterprise data & analytics domains within complex business environments.
  • Strong analytics and business intelligence skills with proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the business, including external parties.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing principles.
  • Ability to handle multiple and complex situations simultaneously taking into considerations the diverse culture within the group.
  • Knowledge of business domain, statistics, mathematics and analytical methods.
  • Knowledge of data and KPIs commonly used in airline industry, particularly as they relate to the commercial application of this information.
  • Proven hands-on knowledge of SQL/Python/R.
  • Strong Relationship building Skills.
