The International Affairs team is an essential part of the International Affairs department.
The Industry Affairs Manager will ensure day-to-day support and management of Emirates’ priorities within the context of industry trade bodies such as International Air Transport Association (IATA). Specifically, this role entails responsibility for safeguarding Emirates agency sales systems and commercial interests across both passenger and cargo traffic, by ensuring alignment with evolving global standards. The manager will drive the enhancement and adaptation of procedures and services to reflect the latest industry developments and best practices. The role also requires preparation for and engagement in advocacy work on key industry related developments, thereby achieving Emirates’ commercial, financial and wider policy objectives on industry affairs issues.

In This Role, You Will
Manage and implement policy, procedural and commercial matters related to the IATA Agency Programmes - Passenger and Cargo, including Agency Accreditation, Billing and Settlement Plans (BSP), Cargo Accounts Settlement Systems (CASS) and to ensure full benefits of Emirates participation.
Evaluate and liaise with Commercial and Group Risk Management on Emirates participation in new BSPs and CASSs and enhance participation in the current BSPs and CASSs to obtain maximum commercial benefits.
Initiate amendments to IATA Passenger & Cargo Agency Resolutions and Local Financial Criteria to minimise Emirates exposure from agency defaults and receive the BSP & CASS settlement amounts from IATA at the earliest.
Independently issue written updates to relevant internal departments and Emirates offices globally, related to IATA Agency and Passenger Standards Conference activities for their information, guidance and action.
Independently liaise and interact with all internal departments, Emirates offices globally, IATA offices, Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO), local and global Travel Agency Associations, Industry Affairs departments of other airlines on relevant topics and take appropriate action.
Keep abreast of the impact of industry policy issues on Emirates, for example passenger rights, slot allocations and, advance passenger information requirements.
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
Bachelors Degree or Honours with 8+ years of experience in Commercial/Sales. Research/Analysis
Airline experience in commercial/ sales, IATA Passenger & Cargo Agency Programme, Passenger Services related activities of which a minimum of 5 years in a management capacity.
In-depth knowledge of the rules and Resolutions included in the IATA Passenger & Cargo Agency Conference Resolution Manuals
In-depth knowledge of the rules, Resolutions and Recommended Practices included in the IATA Passenger Standards Conference Resolution Manual and good understanding of Modern Airline Retailing and Offers & Orders.
The job holder should have the required multi-disciplines profile in IATAs Passenger & Cargo Agency Programme and IATA Passenger Standards and Services activities.
