MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To perform, inspect, review, and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities within the Surface Treatment Workshops, including but not limited to heat treatment, plating, peening, and related specialised processes, in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, the company Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), GCAA CAR Part V, GCAA CAR-145, EASA Part-145, approved technical data, and company procedures, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, process control, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs, inspects, reviews, and certifies maintenance activities involving heat treatment, plating, peening, and other assigned surface treatment processes in accordance with approved technical data and the limitations of company-issued authorizations.
  • Ensures all specialised treatment processes are carried out in compliance with the company MOE, applicable regulatory requirements, approved process specifications, technical documentation, and company procedures.
  • Verifies that required process parameters, including but not limited to temperature, duration, chemical concentration, pressure, intensity, coverage, and surface condition, are correctly applied and recorded before certification.
  • Reviews components and materials before, during, and after processing to confirm their suitability, condition, conformity, and compliance with applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Verifies the quality and completeness of completed treatment processes and ensures that components meet the required technical, dimensional, metallurgical, and surface-finish standards before certification and release.
  • Identifies defects, process deviations, contamination, damage, non-conformances, or other conditions that may affect component integrity and initiates the appropriate reporting, segregation, corrective action, or escalation.
  • Completes and certifies work orders, job cards, process records, inspection reports, treatment charts, and supporting maintenance documentation accurately, legibly, and within the required timelines.
  • Ensures the proper identification, control, handling, storage, and traceability of components, materials, chemicals, consumables, and process media used within the assigned workshops.
  • Ensures that furnaces, tanks, peening equipment, measuring devices, test equipment, tools, and associated facilities are approved, serviceable, appropriately certified, and within their calibration or inspection validity before use.
  • Performs or verifies applicable process-control, inspection, testing, and acceptance checks to confirm that treatment results meet approved technical requirements.
  • Monitors the condition and control of process solutions, treatment media, test specimens, indicators, and other process-related materials and escalates any deterioration, expiry, contamination, or out-of-limit condition.
  • Identifies resource, tooling, equipment, material, chemical, technical-data, or operational constraints that may affect maintenance delivery and escalates them with practical recommendations.
  • Supports internal, external, customer, quality, safety, and regulatory audits and assists in addressing findings and implementing agreed corrective actions.
  • Promotes a strong safety culture by complying with health, safety, environmental, chemical-handling, personal protective equipment, and human factors requirements and promptly reporting hazards, unsafe conditions, spills, exposures, and safety concerns.
  • Maintains the validity of all required personal authorizations, approvals, qualifications, and competencies and supports continuous improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening process capability, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree (2 years)
  • Diploma in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Fluent in English
  • 3 years relevant experience of which 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry covering a combination of experience in aircraft or component or workshop maintenance. Hands-on experience in peening and/or plating operations.
  • Working knowledge of AMOS preferred
  • Years with qualifications: 3 - 5 years
  • 147 approved GCAA module 9 & 10 is mandatory. Previous company authorization is preferred. Relevant type or task training as applicable to shop scope is preferred.
  • UAE GCAA basic license without type or Company Authorization. Valid UAE driving licence is preferred. Previous company authorisation for peening and/or plating activities is preferred.

Isr Requirements

Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
