Aircraft Interior Painter Prepper

STS Aviation Services is hiring an Aircraft Interior Painter / Prepper in Dubai, UAE. This role reports to the Paint Workshop Manager and supports aircraft interior painting, preparation, finishing, masking, coating application and quality checks within a professional aviation maintenance environment.

This position is ideal for a skilled painter or prepper with aircraft painting experience, auto body repair and painting knowledge, composite finishing skills and the ability to work from engineering drawings while maintaining strict safety, quality and FOD control standards.

Position Summary

The Aircraft Interior Painter / Prepper will help ensure aircraft interiors are prepared, painted and finished to the highest standards. The role involves preparing materials, tools, equipment and documentation at the start of each shift, performing paint preparation, applying primers and coatings, checking paint thickness and adhesion, and ensuring work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures, airport regulations and quality standards.

Role and Responsibilities

• Ensure all materials, parts, tools, equipment and documentation are prepared at the start of the shift
• Perform paint preparation to the highest standards
• Interpret and apply the latest revision drawings
• Ensure proper masking procedures are followed
• Apply epoxy and filler primers as required
• Apply basecoats and topcoats in accordance with work instruction sheets
• Perform wet and dry paint thickness measurements
• Perform adhesion checks and record required information
• Carry out work in compliance with company, health and safety, and airport procedures and regulations
• Maintain a Foreign Object Debris-free work environment
• Ensure the workspace is clean before and after tasks
• Behave in a professional manner when dealing with customers
• Stay updated on new Technical Notices, Quality Notices, and general and technical information
• Participate in relevant training programs to enhance skills and effectiveness
• Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and quality standards
• Follow the Safety & Quality Management Plan and actively participate in workplace safety initiatives
• Maintain tools, equipment and workspaces in a clean, serviceable and safe condition
  
  

Skills And Experience

• Strong background in auto body repair and painting or similar training
• Experience working with fiberglass and composite fill and finishing techniques
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in aircraft painting and finishing
• Proven experience in aircraft interior and exterior paint applications
• Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings
• Strong ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
• Basic English language skills, written and spoken
• Ability to manage daily workload independently with minimal supervision
• Proactive, hands-on approach
• Strong problem-solving mindset
