Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Accounting Operations of the business across several countries. This role acts as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions and adherence to company policies and relevant regulations. The position plays an important role in month-end close, reconciliations, treasury and tax activities and payroll administration.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are properly prepared and supported.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial schedules.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations - Banks, payroll, intercompany, advances, deposits, etc.
  • Review Balance sheet schedules for AP and AR.
  • Manage daily bank operations, including processing payments, recording receipts, and monitoring cash balances. Ensure accurate and timely bank reconciliations
  • Support treasury activities such as cash forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and fund transfers.
  • Oversee payroll processing in coordination with HR, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely disbursements.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure correct accounting of salaries, allowances, end-of-service benefits and related accruals.
  • Ensure compliance with various labour laws, WPS requirements and internal HR/Finance policies
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, schedules and analysis for management and auditors.
  • Support annual audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and applicable financial regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable laws/regulations
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing best practices
  • Ensure ongoing personal development

The Ideal Candidate Fits The Below Profile

  • ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA Qualified accountant
  • 3-5 years of experience preferably in the Consulting industry
  • Strong knowledge of month end processes, tax and payroll
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead a team
  • Experience working with cross regional teams
  • Engineering Consultancy experience preferred
