Job Description

As an Advisor - Safety, Health & Environment, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety, health, and environmental programs within an organization. Your primary role will be to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards to create and maintain a safe working environment for employees. You will conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and provide training to staff on safety protocols. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing emergency response plans, promoting sustainability initiatives, and collaborating with various departments to integrate safety, health, and environmental practices into daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, environmental regulations, and risk management. A certification in occupational health and safety is preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide safety training to employees on topics such as emergency response, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Oversee the management of hazardous waste materials, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop safety improvement initiatives and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes related to safety, health, and environmental practices.
  • Monitor and report on key safety performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Serve as a resource for employees seeking guidance on safety, health, and environmental issues.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental management.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to safety, health, and environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
