The Accounting Specialist is responsible for journal entries and assisting in support of the accounting and reporting for the ABS Corporate Division.

What You Will Do:

  • Preparation of monthly recurring journal entries.
  • Preparation of overhead allocations.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
  • Compilation of the monthly rolling forecast of profitability.
  • Assist in the compilation of the annual corporate budget.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis on an as-requested basis.
  • Analysis of Corporate client receivables.
  • All other applicable duties as assigned by the Senior Financial Corporate Analyst.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of previous accounting and financial experience.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of the latest spreadsheet or word processing software.
  • Knowledge of general ledger systems and subsystems.
  • Good communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with others, and the ability to communicate directly with upper management.
  • The ability to be proactive in preventing errors and detecting areas at risk, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems.
  • Ability to obtain familiarity with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.

Reporting Relationships:

The incumbent reports directly to an accounting supervisor or manager. This position does not have any direct reports.
