Job Description

The role of Accountant - Receivables is a vital position within the finance department, focusing on the management of incoming funds. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy in billing, and timely collection of payments. Serving as the financial backbone, this position requires an individual who is meticulous, organized, and possesses excellent communication skills to interact with clients and resolve billing issues. The Accountant - Receivables will work closely with other finance team members to ensure financial records are up-to-date and accurately reflect all receivables transactions. This role offers a significant opportunity to contribute directly to the financial health of the organization by ensuring cash inflows are managed efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounts receivable cycle from invoicing to collections.
  • Accurately post payments to customer accounts, ensuring prompt credit application.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to facilitate timely payment processing.
  • Analyze accounts receivable data to identify discrepancies and errors quickly.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to resolve payment and invoicing issues.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to confirm customer order information is accurate.
  • Prepare monthly receivables reports and assist with financial statement preparation.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts receivable ledgers and balances.
  • Monitor aging receivables to optimize cash flow and reduce bad debt risks.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounts receivable policies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to streamline receivables processes for efficiency.
  • Ensure all receivable activities comply with company policies and accounting standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • At least two years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven organizational skills are a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interactions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
