Job Description

An Accountant in the Receivables department plays a crucial role in managing a company's income by ensuring that all outstanding invoices are paid promptly and accurately. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills to monitor and collect payments, assess customer accounts, and reconcile discrepancies. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple accounts efficiently, while keeping accurate records for audit purposes. Responsibilities

  • Monitor outstanding invoices and promptly follow up on pending payments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable records and ledgers.
  • Prepare and deliver account statements to clients on a regular schedule.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliation of receivables to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Identify discrepancies in accounts and resolve them promptly with clients.
  • Implement credit policies and assess customer creditworthiness regularly.
  • Coordinate with sales and collections teams to streamline payment processes.
  • Generate regular reports on the status of accounts receivable for management review.
  • Assist in the month-end closing processes and prepare necessary reports.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate prompt payments.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve receivables processes for efficiency gains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in accounts receivable or accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and peers.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and compliance regulations.
