An Accountant (05N25) plays a critical role in the financial health of an organization by ensuring accuracy in financial records and compliance with relevant regulations. This position requires a meticulous individual with a keen eye for detail, capable of managing a variety of financial tasks. An Accountant at this level must have a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and possess strong analytical skills to interpret financial data meaningfully. They will work closely with finance teams, auditors, and other stakeholders to develop financial reports, manage budgets, and guide financial decisions. This role demands effective communication skills to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, thereby supporting strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Analyze business operations, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues.
• Manage the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to inform strategic decisions.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintain financial security by establishing and enforcing internal controls within the organization.
• Support the completion of annual audits by providing required financial documentation.
• Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers, providing them with guidance and instruction.
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures for efficiency improvements.
• Conduct and document regular financial close processes, ensuring timely financial reporting.
• Assist with tax audits and prepare tax returns to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Communicate financial insights and trends to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the efficient financial operations of the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a financial accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent platforms.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills to present financial concepts to diverse audiences.
• Certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred but not mandatory.
