We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Counselor to join our team. The Academic Counselor will play a pivotal role in offering guidance and support to students in their academic pursuits. This position requires a deep understanding of educational requirements and the ability to help students navigate their educational paths. The successful candidate will work closely with students to help them achieve their academic goals, provide one-on-one counseling sessions, and assist in course selection and career planning. Responsibilities

• Provide academic counseling to students, helping them set and achieve their educational goals.
• Assist students in developing personalized academic plans suited to their career ambitions.
• Offer guidance on course selection, tracking academic progress and success.
• Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to address student academic concerns and challenges.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student learning and development initiatives.
• Identify students at academic risk and develop strategies for improvement and engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions, sessions, and progress reports.
• Provide resources and referrals for additional academic support services as needed.
• Organize workshops and seminars to promote academic success and career readiness.
• Stay updated on educational trends and requirements to provide relevant guidance to students.
• Participate in student orientation programs to inform new students of available services.
• Encourage a supportive and inclusive environment that respects student diversity and needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Proven experience as an academic counselor or in a similar educational role.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are a must.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong knowledge of academic programs and educational resources and services.
• Proficiency in using educational advising tools and student information systems.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in counseling practices.
