An A/C Technician is a specialized professional responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems. They play a crucial role in ensuring that residential, commercial, and industrial spaces have the appropriate climate control necessary for comfort and safety. A/C Technicians work with various types of cooling and heating systems, diagnosing, identifying, and resolving issues to maintain optimal performance. This position requires a solid understanding of electrical principles, mechanical systems, and the ability to follow safety protocols. Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential, as technicians often interact directly with clients to explain repairs and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure new air conditioning systems for residential and commercial use.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of air conditioning units and components.
• Identify and repair faults or malfunctions in air conditioning systems and components.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulations in all operations.
• Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Provide cost estimates and project timelines to customers for repair and installation work.
• Perform preventive maintenance to enhance performance and extend the lifecycle of systems.
• Prepare and maintain accurate service records, documenting each repair and maintenance task.
• Assist in energy efficiency improvement and suggest upgrades to customers’ systems.
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls to resolve customer's heating and cooling needs.
• Handle refrigerants and ensure correct disposal according to environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with team members and other service departments to ensure comprehensive service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification in a technical field is required.
• Certification in HVAC or relevant technical training in air conditioning systems.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an A/C Technician or similar role in the field.
• Strong knowledge of air conditioning systems, refrigerants, and components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail and safety practices.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
