Key Responsibilities 

As a Technical Sales Manager, you drive technical solutions in all dairy and dairy alternative projects that optimize formulations and strengthen our ingredients' commercial impact. You are a partner that understands the trends driving consumer preference; and knows how to deliver the qualities needed to help to create differentiated products.

  • Analyze customer needs, recommending suitable ingredients, providing technical guidance, and ensuring alignment with both application and commercial requirements.
  • Lead and participate in technical customer projects by delivering commercially viable dsm-firmenich solutions and driving innovation through tailored recommendations.
  • Oversee product trials at customer sites, assess formulations and processes, while evaluating trial results by analyzing product performance and interpreting data to extract meaningful insights.
  • Coordinate technical discussions between customers and internal teams to align on project objectives and deliverables and provide strategic oversight to ensure seamless customer support and business growth.
  • Provides appropriate technical training for customers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Based on understanding of market and customer trends, and in line with global/regional/segment strategies, identify gaps in current offering and propose ideas for innovation/technology development; ensure successful launch and adoption in the markets of new products.

You Bring

  • Expertise in dairy technology with 5+ years in technical sales for Dairy and bachelor or master’s degree in food/Dairy Technology (Dairy Technology or Microbiology specialization is a must).
  • Deep understanding and experience in the performance of flavors/ingredients in food matrices, as well as knowledge of ingredient functionalities and interactions in formulations.
  • A balance of commercial and technical acumen, ensuring that solutions are both scientifically sound and commercially viable.
  • Problem-solving mindset, quick on your feet, providing immediate yet stable technical solutions—including running trials and analyzing data to optimize results.
  • Confidence in your expertise, combined with the ability to engage with customers and collaborate effectively with different partners.
  • A proactive approach to opportunity identification, recognizing new business potential and bringing it to both the technical experts and customers and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to travel >50%.
