Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Participate in Supplier process reviews, Quality audit, Control Plan development, process capability and gage studies, and other milestone events.
• Participate in initial and sustaining part qualification, including part approval activities as required by the level of criticality of the component.
• Participate in supplier qualification and selection activities, including taking the lead on supplier quality assessments.
• Develop, analyze, and report Quality Performance Metrics of actual supplier performance.
• Identify opportunities for supplier development and process improvement activities, while driving Corrective Actions & problem root cause analysis as necessary.
• Initiate, review and track Supplier Corrective Actions Requests until actions have been implemented and verified as effective.
• Assessing the quality and compliance with specifications and standards.
• Resolving quality issues with the suppliers.
• Working with cross-functional teams to ensure that incoming materials meet the required specifications.
• Working with suppliers to develop quality improvement plans and ensuring their implementation.
• Mentor and be an example to all lower grade production operators. Effective use of skills and knowledge to promote Quality, H&S & Environmental management system.
• Ensure routine tasks are completed as planned.
• Identify labour/material cost savings as part of ongoing improvements/lean initiatives.
• Improve production output as part of ongoing improvements/lean initiatives.
• Identify QHSE issues and coordinate with concerned HOD’s or Safety Officer for any issues observed to be addressed.
• Knowledge in IMS Policy, Objectives & Targets.
• Adhere to company’s HSE Policy, ensuring 100% PPE Compliance when going out to the Shopfloor, and cooperate with anything the employer does to comply with OHS requirements.
• Familiar with the use of emergency equipment such as Fire Alarm Call Point and Fire Extinguishers, has full knowledge in emergency assembly procedure.
• Take reasonable care for their own health and safety & others who may affected by their acts or omissions.
• Avoid wearing jewellery or loose clothing while inside shopfloor.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ electrical Engineering

Minimum 5 Years’ Experience

With UAE Driving license

Competence

Strong knowledge in quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001

Technically strong in Electrical & Mechanical concepts
