About The Role
As a Senior Officer – Credit Policy & MIS, you will play a critical role in supporting the Retail Credit Risk function by maintaining a strong policy, portfolio monitoring, and control framework across Retail and Business Banking lending products.
You will be responsible for supporting credit policy governance, portfolio analytics, regulatory reporting, provisioning oversight, and management information systems (MIS), while ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective risk monitoring across the lending portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing: Credit Policy & Governance
Support the drafting, renewal, and maintenance of Retail Credit Policies (RCP), Product Program Guidelines (PPGs), credit circulars, and policy notes.
Track policy updates, approvals, implementation requirements, and regulatory changes.
Ensure credit criteria, documentation standards, and control requirements are consistently reflected across policy documents.
Support policy governance and regulatory compliance activities.
Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Analytics
Prepare and validate monthly and quarterly portfolio monitoring reports.
Monitor key portfolio indicators including exposures, bookings, delinquency, NPLs, provisions, restructures, and cost of risk.
Track portfolio performance against approved thresholds and support escalation of emerging risks.
Conduct risk reviews and provide actionable insights to management.
Credit MIS & Data Management
Maintain and reconcile portfolio-level and account-level MIS across Retail and Business Banking portfolios.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across Risk, Finance, Collections, Operations, and source systems.
Perform data quality reviews, reconciliations, exception monitoring, and control checks.
Maintain audit-ready documentation and reporting files.
Provisioning, ECL & Write-Off Oversight
Support monthly provisioning and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) activities across retail lending portfolios.
Coordinate with Finance, Operations, and Collections teams on provisions and portfolio performance.
Assist with IFRS 9 staging, SICR, UTP, and related risk management activities.
Collections & Portfolio Performance Reporting
Support collections strategy monitoring through analytics and management reporting.
Provide reporting on bucket movements, restructures, salary credit behavior, collections performance, and portfolio trends.
Contribute to risk oversight and strategy evaluation through reliable MIS and portfolio analysis.
Automation & Process Improvement
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for policy rules, scorecards, dashboards, provisioning models, and system enhancements.
Prepare business requirements, testing scenarios, issue logs, and implementation evidence.
Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and strengthen controls.
Drive efficiency and reporting accuracy through continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management & Audit Readiness
Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Operations, Collections, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders.
Support management reviews, committee reporting, audit requests, and regulatory submissions.
Prepare management-ready insights, commentary, and portfolio summaries.
Maintain robust documentation, audit trails, controls, and governance records.
What We're Looking For: Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
Professional qualifications in Risk Management, Credit Risk, Banking, Accounting, Analytics, or Data Science are preferred.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Credit Risk MIS, Credit Policy, Portfolio Analytics, Provisioning, Retail Lending Operations, Risk Analytics, or related banking functions.
Experience working within Retail Banking, Business Banking, Risk Management, or Credit functions.
Industry Exposure
Strong understanding of Retail Credit Risk and Product Program Guidelines.
Knowledge of CBUAE regulations, IFRS 9, ECL methodologies, provisioning, collections, write-offs, and consumer protection requirements.
Experience supporting portfolio monitoring, governance, and regulatory reporting frameworks.
