Job Description

A Facility Manager (FM) ensures that a buildings services meet the needs of its occupants by maintaining the physical infrastructure, safety, and operational efficiency of the workspace . The role typically blends hands-on technical oversight with strategic planning and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Operations: Oversee all installations (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and schedule both preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure buildings meet health and safety (OSHA/H&S) standards and government legislation.
• Vendor Management: Source, negotiate, and supervise external contractors for services like cleaning, security, and catering.
• Budgeting: Manage operational and capital expenditure budgets, striving for cost reduction in utilities and services.
• Space Planning: Plan office layouts and coordinate relocations or refurbishments to maximize space utilization.
• Security: Implement and maintain physical security measures, including access control and alarm systems
  
  

• A bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or Business Administration is often required.
• 5+ years in facilities, building operations, or property management.
