The Inventory Manager will be responsible for overseeing inventory operations across stores, warehouses, and distribution channels, ensuring optimal stock availability, accurate inventory records, and efficient stock movement while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the complete inventory cycle from receiving and storage to distribution and store replenishment.
Monitor stock levels across stores and warehouses and ensure optimal inventory availability.
Develop and implement inventory control procedures, policies, and best practices.
Ensure accurate inventory records across ERP/POS and inventory management systems.
Coordinate stock transfers between warehouses and retail stores.
Monitor slow-moving, fast-moving, excess, damaged, and obsolete inventory.
Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and physical inventory audits.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, logistics, sales, and retail teams to ensure smooth stock flow.
Analyze historical sales and inventory data to support replenishment and purchasing decisions.
Ensure stores receive the right products and quantities based on demand and sales performance.
Monitor inventory turnover, stock availability, shrinkage, and other key inventory KPIs.
Identify opportunities to improve stock accuracy, reduce losses, and optimize working capital.
Prepare regular inventory reports and provide management with insights and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with company inventory procedures and internal controls.
Support inventory planning for new store openings, promotions, seasonal demand, and product launches.
Manage and develop inventory/stock control teams where applicable.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably within retail.
Strong understanding of retail inventory processes, stock replenishment, and warehouse operations.
Experience working with ERP, POS, and inventory management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large volumes of inventory data.
Strong understanding of inventory KPIs and stock control methodologies.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work with multiple departments and manage competing priorities.
