The Internal Communications Manager will design and develop a world class approach to internal communications that is closely aligned to a strategy of engaging all Emirates Group people with Group company brands. To formulate and implement an Internal Communications strategy to deliver consistent and timely support for Emirates Group departments communication requirements for employee and brand engagement, and develop an annual internal communications plan in support of the same. Drive and oversee internal communications campaigns and activities across all Emirates Group departments.
In This Role You Will
Develop and implement a compelling brand engagement strategy that is designed to engage all Group people in their places of work and support the Emirates Group brand values. To be done in close collaboration with HR to maximise the value of their input around potential HR interventions, for instance, change management, reward and recognition. Develop and articulate the internal branding strategy for the airline and Group, in collaboration with the brand development forum and Advertising team to support the direction for brand engagement.
Conduct a needs assessment to identify and scope the requirements for internal communications, identify key stakeholders and support departments, and from this assessment, clearly define the scope of work needed to facilitate employee and brand engagement across the Group.
Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy for a diverse and dispersed workforce, in-line with human resource standards and practices. Ensure consistency of messaging in all internal communications to ensure an effective understanding of corporate strategies and objectives and engage staff with the direction of their business units or companies.
Ensure that all projects within the jobholders responsibility are managed to the standards set by the Corporate Communications project management framework to ensure delivery within scope, time, quality and cost. Maintain the project portfolio for the Internal Communications team.
Develop a model to measure the performance of projects delivered by Internal Communications. Monitor performance on a quarterly basis and share this information with DSVP CC and HR, and ensure that all projects are appropriately evaluated upon delivery against scope, time, quality, cost, impact and targeted KPIs.
Establish mechanisms to monitor employee engagement through the use of annual and other periodic staff surveys, and periodically audit all existing internal communications tools and requirements. Work with the business functions to provide practical guidance and support on the interpretation and best use of employee engagement survey data.
Create and manage the budget based on the annual Internal Communications and Engagement plan. Maximise the number of projects to be handled in-house, avoiding expense with outside agencies as far as possible, yet ensuring creative communications and engagement solutions that are up to the high standards expected within the Group and that deliver a measurable value addition.
Develop a comprehensive set of guidelines and processes to ensure that stakeholders are aware of the internal communications and employee engagement support services that are available to them, and formally take feedback from these stakeholders to understand how they expect their needs to evolve. Define a service development plan so that Internal Communications is able to evolve its services to meet the changing needs of the Group.
Manage and co-ordinate with various in-house and external suppliers to produce and distribute internal communications collateral down all internal communications channels and oversee all copy and design to ensure consistency and timely distribution.
Direct, lead and develop the Internal Communications team to deliver solutions. Manage and coach direct reports, guiding them to improved performance through continuous training and development. To deal with staff issues as they arise offering solutions and support. To ensure that staff undertakes training as identified in their personal and professional development plans.
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
8+ years Marketing & Media Communication or Internet Communications.
Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
Qualification in HR and/or journalism would be an advantage
Experience in a internal/employee communications or public relations role, with experience in planning and managing internal communications activities with a multinational company or agency.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present proposals professionally and to deal effectively with senior management and outside suppliers.
