The IT Systems Engineer is a in role responsible to administration and maintenance all technologies implemented in ICT environment of Dubai metro and Dubai Tram such as HCI/Standalone hardware infrastructure, Microsoft Services, MS Exchange, M365, Database etc., in line with business needs

Key Responsibilities

Strategic

• Administration and monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability of all IT Services in line with service levels agreed with business. Install, configure, maintain the operating systems, anticipating & troubleshooting systems related issues of applications, infrastructure of different application services, O365 services a. Exchange Online b. Microsoft Teams c. SharePoint Online d. OneDrive for Business of Dubai metro and Dubai tram.
• This role to works closely with Sr. IT Systems Engineer and IT Helpdesk team, to understand the new technical needs of business, provide IT Systems support to business as agreed.
• Ensure the ICT Systems are secure from Cyber Threat by implementing IT systems maintenance plan for regular patching and security updates.

Stakeholder / Customer

• Work with IT team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
• Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of systems and software to meet the business objectives. Provide all systems related support for new IT infrastructure or application projects from systems prospective.
  
  

Operational

• Responsible to ensure all servers are upgraded with monthly patches from Microsoft and other applications installed.
• Continual maintenance of security, including daily data backup and redundancy strategies, liaison with 3rd party vendors/partners, IT providers, etc. for support services. Providing Level 2 and 3 support of systems, infrastructure services.
• Responsible for maintaining the Operating Systems of endpoints and servers to the latest version by planning a yearly upgrade.
• Ensuring the data backups are done regularly, data restoration test is carried out monthly basis to ensure the data is available to restore on request of business users.
• Responsible for uptime of all IT Infrastructure systems to 99% on monthly basis, lead the IT systems incident troubleshooting and resolution within agreed SLA.
• Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
• Conduct Disaster Recovery Drills for IT Systems services and critical applications as agreed with business on yearly basis.
• Collaboration with Compliance, IT, People, and Security team members for improving automation efficiency, security posture, and vulnerability management.
• Be an escalation point for End User support team and IT Helpdesk team.

• Act as escalation point for end-user IT support services team to support complex IT issues which they are not able to resolve.

• Microsoft Technologies – Server Operating Systems, MS Exchange, SCCM, SQL, Virtualization – VM Ware, Hyper-V, Knowledge of DevOps environment
• Microsoft Cloud Technologies – Azure, M365, Dynamics 365 cloud platform
• Infrastructure – Dell, HP Hyper Converge Environment
• Information Technology Controls – MFA, PAM, Encryption
• Data Backup management and exposure of data backup application
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows/Linux-based environments

Information Security Certification

Experience

Minimum 12 plus years of experience in Systems Engineering domain, primarily on Microsoft onprim and cloud technologies (Minimum 5 years in managing cloud environment).

Experience of managing Dell, HP. Huawei HCI infrastructure

Linux Environment Management

Skills / Training

MCSE/Azure Administrator/ VM Ware Certified

Fluent in English/People Management/Presentation
