The Fraud Detection team play a vital role in protecting our Customers and Organisation against the impact of Fraud. We are now on the hunt for a Fraud Detection Specialist to join our passionate, supportive and fun-loving team.
Mo te tūranga | About the Role:
In this Fraud Detection Specialist position, you will be primarily responsible for the detection, monitoring, assessing and investigation for Fraud across various workstreams. You will analyse and interrogate data received from various internal and external sources to make sound decisions as to the next steps, ensuring a seamless banking experience whilst meeting our regulatory obligations.
Along with your extensive banking or financial services experience, you will bring the following skills and experience:
- A naturally inquisitive and investigative mind, with the ability to ensure confidentiality is always maintained
- Ability to make informed decisions and demonstrate initiative
- Strong listening skills, to understand our customers and support appropriately
- Experience with fraud detection, fraud monitoring or fraud investigation is helpful, however not essential
Due to the nature of the role, the team operates on a
24/7 rotating roster. As such, this role will suit someone who is able to commit to rotational shifts. Please note public transport may not always be available due to the timing of shifts.

- Calm Under Pressure - you can stay focused and make sound decisions when things get busy or when urgent situations arise. You work well in a fast paced, everchanging environment where no two days are the same.
- Curiosity & Problem-Solving Mindset - you enjoy digging into information, spotting patterns, and asking good questions to understand what’s really going on.
- Openness to Diverse Backgrounds - you might come from customer service, retail, tech, policing, or something entirely different, we value transferable skills and fresh perspectives. Fraud or financial crime experience is a bonus, but not essential.
- Teamwork & Communication - you collaborate well with others and contribute to a supportive team culture. You’re comfortable reaching out when you need help and stepping in when teammates need support.
