Job Description

The Field Technician Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that field operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position involves working on-site at various locations to install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment and systems related to the company's operations. A successful Field Technician Specialist is knowledgeable in handling advanced technical equipment and can diagnose and solve complex problems quickly. They often serve as the first line of defense when issues arise and are essential in maintaining customer satisfaction through quality service provision. Their work requires a combination of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset, often working independently or as part of a team engaged in on-site tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Install and configure equipment and systems at client locations based on specifications.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and repair technical issues promptly ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Document all service work performed and complete necessary paperwork systematically.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients on equipment and system use.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues effectively.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and parts, ensuring necessary stock levels are met.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and advancements relevant to the field operations.
  • Train junior technicians in understanding equipment operations and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of field operation policies and procedures.
  • Provide detailed reports on project progress and field activities to management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Field Technician or in a similar technical role.
  • Strong understanding of technical equipment and system installation processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics effectively.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
