Role Purpose

Responsible for leading Innovo Energy function, ensuring the effective planning, implementation, monitoring and continual improvement of temporary energy systems, construction plant energy optimisation and innovative energy-saving initiatives across all projects. The role develops departmental strategy, standards and KPIs while leading the Energy Team. The position works closely with Design, Operations, Plant, Procurement, Tendering and the Sustainability Team to reduce energy consumption, fuel usage, operating costs and construction-phase carbon emissions.

Key Accountabilities

Energy Construction Strategy
•    Develop and implement Innovo Construction Energy Management Strategy across all projects in alignment with the company's operational, sustainability, and innovation objectives.  
•    Establish departmental objectives, standards, procedures, and KPIs to drive continuous improvement in construction energy performance.  
•    Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, fuel usage, operating costs, and construction related carbon emissions.

Department Leadership & Team Management
•    Lead and develop the Construction Energy Team, ensuring effective resource planning, performance management, and technical development.
•    Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
•    Monitor departmental performance and ensure the successful achievement of business objectives

Energy Construction Management
•    Oversee the planning, implementation, and optimization of temporary power systems, construction plant, and temporary facilities to improve energy efficiency throughout the construction phase.  
•    Review and approve energy optimization studies, technical recommendations, and innovative solutions developed by the team.  
•    Ensure effective monitoring and analysis of project energy performance to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Innovation & Sustainability
•    Lead the evaluation and implementation of innovative technologies and best practices that improve construction energy efficiency and operational performance.  
•    Work closely with the Sustainability Team to support corporate sustainability objectives, carbon reduction initiatives, and ESG reporting requirements.  
•    Promote practical and cost-effective solutions that enhance project sustainability without compromising safety, quality, or productivity.

Project & Business Support
•    Provide strategic support to Tendering, Design, Procurement, Plant, and Project Teams in developing efficient construction energy solutions and value engineering opportunities.  
•    Support major projects by providing technical guidance on temporary power systems, construction energy optimization, and innovative technologies.  
•    Develop strong relationships with suppliers and technology partners to identify emerging solutions that benefit the business.

Governance, Performance & Compliance
•    Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements related to construction energy activities.  
•    Monitor departmental KPIs, energy performance, cost savings, and innovation initiatives, reporting progress to the Design Manager.  
•    Drive continuous improvement through performance reviews, lessons learned, and the implementation of best practices.  

HSE and Quality Accountabilities
•    Adhere to Quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business performance. 
•    Ensure strict adherence of HSE policies and procedures set. Report HSE incidents/violations etc. to superiors on time
 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 13–15 years' experience with min 5 years in well-established contracting companies in GCC construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, solar hybrid solutions, and energy-efficiency technologies. 
    Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of energy monitoring, fuel optimization and construction sustainability. 
    Hands-on experience of implementing ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Knowledge of HSE standards, Operational hazards and controls, International HSE standards. 
    MS Office, Power BI (preferred), AutoCAD/Revit (preferred).
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
