THE ROLE

As Design Director, you will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across major airport and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing design delivery, ensuring quality and compliance, coordinating stakeholders and design teams, and supporting the successful execution of projects from concept through construction.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design Management & Coordination: Manage multidisciplinary design activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives, client requirements, programme milestones and quality standards.
• Team Leadership: Coordinate architects, engineers, specialist designers and external consultants, fostering collaboration and efficient delivery across all disciplines
• Design Planning & Resource Management: Support resource planning, workload forecasting and mobilization of design teams to meet project schedules and delivery requirements.
• Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a key interface with clients, authorities, contractors and project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of design matters.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all design deliverables comply with client requirements, company standards, local authority regulations and applicable codes.
• Design Reviews & Technical Oversight: Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions, providing guidance to ensure consistency, accuracy and buildability.
• Construction Phase Support: Provide design clarifications, review contractor submissions and support site teams in resolving technical and design-related issues during project execution.
• Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Track design progress, identify risks, monitor key milestones and provide regular updates to project leadership and stakeholders.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Minimum 15 years of experience in design management, architecture or engineering, including experience on major infrastructure or airport projects.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and managing project deliverables across multiple disciplines
• Solid understanding of design development, project delivery processes, design coordination and quality management
• Experience working with clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities in a project environment.
• Strong knowledge of local authority requirements, codes, standards and approval processes.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-standard design and project management tools
