The role will support a diverse range of facilities, including industrial workshops, manufacturing centers, laboratories, offices and headquarters, operational bases, and other specialized facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with internal users, engineering teams, project managers, and external design consultants to translate business and operational requirements into practical, safe, efficient, and fit-for-purpose facility designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop feasibility studies, space plans, conceptual designs, layouts, and early-stage architectural solutions for new facilities, expansions, renovations, and consolidations.
  • Lead and participate in user-requirement workshops and design reviews, gathering and translating operational, functional, technical, and spatial requirements into design solutions.
  • Read, understand, interpret, and apply SLB design standards, specifications, blueprints, performance criteria, and technical requirements.
  • Review architectural and multidisciplinary drawings and provide clear, technically grounded design comments.
  • Work with external architects, engineers, and consultants to communicate requirements, discuss engineering constraints and design alternatives, and develop solutions that meet project objectives.
  • Coordinate architectural design with civil, structural, MEP, IT/networking, security, HSE, fire/life-safety, and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate designs for functionality, constructability, maintainability, efficiency, safety, and compliance with applicable standards and codes.
  • Prepare drawings, 3D models, renderings, presentations, and other materials required to communicate design concepts and support project decision-making.
  • Support projects through design development and provide architectural input during later project stages as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related architecture/design/engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably involving industrial, manufacturing, laboratory, infrastructure, commercial, or other technically complex facilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with experience in Rhino and/or other 3D modeling, visualization, and rendering software.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design, space planning, construction documentation, materials, building systems, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Ability to understand complex operational requirements and translate them into practical facility designs.
  • Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Based in Dubai and willing to travel regionally and internationally as project needs require.
