Job Overview

Due to growth, Al Rabeeh Academy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Whole School SENDCO to join our dynamic, high-performing team from March 2026.

As the SENDCO, you will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating inclusive provision across the entire school, ensuring that every student with additional learning needs receives high-quality support that enables them to thrive. You will work closely with teachers, leaders, and parents to develop effective strategies, oversee personalised support plans, and promote an inclusive culture where all learners can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Our Facilities

Al Rabeeh Academy is a modern, purpose-built campus with well-equipped classrooms, specialist science and ICT labs, art and music rooms, and a spacious library. The school provides excellent sports facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, multi-purpose sports hall, shaded outdoor play areas, Padel tennis courts, and AstroTurf pitches. What Were Looking For

We are seeking a Whole School SENCO who can:

  • Lead and coordinate outstanding provision for students with SEND across the entire school, ensuring inclusive practice is consistently embedded in every phase.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop high-quality support strategies, personalised learning plans, and effective classroom accommodations.
  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students with additional needs, using data to track progress and ensure timely interventions.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and professional development to staff to strengthen inclusive teaching practices and build confidence in supporting diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with parents, external agencies, therapists, and specialists to ensure a cohesive, supportive approach to each student’s development and well-being.
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation in line with regulatory expectations and contribute to policy development and whole-school improvement planning.
  • Champion the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students with SEND, promoting a culture of high expectations, respect, and equitable access to learning.
  • Participate actively in school events, training opportunities, and wider whole-school initiatives, contributing to a positive, collaborative school environment.

Qualifications And Experience

Applicants must:

  • Be a fluent English speaker
  • Have a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor’s degree with PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Have a specialist SEND qualification or substantial proven experience in leading SEND provision (experience across multiple phases is an advantage).
  • Have a strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Have experience in identifying, assessing, and supporting students with a broad range of additional needs.
  • Have proven ability to lead, coach, and support teachers in implementing effective SEND strategies.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive, solution-focused partnerships with parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage systems, documentation, and processes to meet regulatory and inspection requirements.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and promoting a culture of high expectations for all learners.
