Synopsis



The Finance Manager for Support Services will oversee all finance back-office functions managed by the Global Business Support Services (GBSS). This role requires extensive business knowledge, a foundational understanding of financial systems, and strict adherence to Etihads policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will excel in managing complex financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements. Key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, managing financial systems, identifying opportunities for process improvements, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders to support strategic decision-making. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Note that this position is based out of our Al Ain office.

Accountabilities



  • Leadership and Management: Lead the finance back-office team, providing guidance, training, and fostering a high-performance work environment while implementing strategic plans for improvement.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee global Accounts Payable (DOC – HO & Outstation, Non-Doc – PO based, Non DOC - Non-PO, Technical, Concur – Staff expenses, DT claim, IOU advance, Petty cash, Corporate credit card) Accounts Receivable, and Bokkeeping functions – Bank reconciliations, Supplier reconciliations, Procurement). Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
  • Process Improvement and Automation: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, utilizing financial systems and tools to streamline operations and driving automation and digital transformation initiatives within the Finance/Procurement back-office.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Collaborates closely with the Senior Manager and head office implant staff within GBSS to manage various Management Information Systems (MIS) and provide analytical support for decision-making. This involves offering insights and recommendations based on financial data to aid strategic planning and operational efficiency. This crucial role in ensuring that accurate and timely financial information is available to support business decisions.
  • Daily Operations Management: Responsible for releasing daily dashboards, addressing exceptions, and ensuring that staff are adequately available to handle daily input volumes. This includes monitoring workflow, managing resources, and maintaining a high level of operational readiness to meet the demands of the business. The Finance Managers efforts are pivotal in maintaining smooth financial operations and supporting the overall objectives of GBSS.
  • Stakeholder Management and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and support for financial operations, work with stakeholders during the internal/ external auditors, vendors management, addressing and resolving any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

Education & Experience



  • Bachelors Degree: A bachelors degree/Diploma in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is typically required.
  • Relevant Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a focus on quality assurance or process improvement.
  • Management Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role, overseeing financial processes and teams.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the Airline industry required
