General Practitioner GP - Dentistry Open For All Nationalities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct comprehensive dental examinations, obtain and document relevant medical and dental histories, assess oral health conditions, and establish appropriate diagnoses.

• Assess patients medical fitness and suitability for dental procedures, and identify any relevant risks, contraindications, or need for medical consultation.

• Perform general dental procedures, including preventive care, scaling, restorations, and other treatments permitted within the dentists approved scope of practice and clinical privileges.

• Provide appropriate pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions and follow-up care for patients undergoing dental procedures.

• Identify cases requiring specialized care and refer them appropriately to orthodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, endodontists, prosthodontists, or other relevant specialists.

• Explain diagnoses, treatment options, expected outcomes, risks, benefits, and alternatives clearly to patients, and obtain valid informed consent before treatment.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and records in line with professional standards through the e-system.

• Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive dental care, treatment compliance, and maintenance of long-term oral health.

• Supervise the relationship with MOHAP to ensure AUMC complies with MOHAP requirements, professional standards, infection-control policies, and all applicable laws and regulations governing health practices.

• Supervise and implement marketing activities, including social media content, promotional and awareness announcements, subject to management approval and applicable healthcare advertising regulations.

• Design and suggest weekly/monthly promotional offers to attract patients.

• Encourage patient engagement and promote awareness of available dental services in an ethical and professional manner.

• Assist in building the clinics professional reputation and online presence through expert contributions.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Dental degree (BDS or equivalent).

• Valid MOHAP license (or eligibility letter) to practice as a General Dentist; DHA/HAAD license holders must obtain MOHAP licensure.

• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience.

• Postgraduate training, certification, or documented clinical experience in a recognized clinical dental discipline (e.g. Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Endodontics) is an advantage.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Strong diagnostic, treatment planning and clinical decision-making skills.

• Sound knowledge of general dental procedures, infection prevention and control, patient safety, and clinical risk-management standards.

• Strong knowledge of dental materials, instruments and equipment, their clinical indications, safe handling, and appropriate product evaluation.

• Excellent patient communication and counselling abilities.

• Proficient in dental clinical documentation and the use of electronic dental record systems; experience with DentiMax Software is preferred.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• High level of professionalism, empathy, ethical conduct and confidentiality.

• Willingness to participate in continuous learning and clinic development programs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work is performed in a dental clinical environment.
• May involve exposure to blood, saliva, sharps, chemicals, radiographic equipment, and other occupational hazards.
• Must comply with infection-prevention and control requirements, occupational health and safety procedures, and radiation-safety requirements where applicable.
• Requires correct and consistent use of personal protective equipment.

Reports to: Director of CCEE, Ajman University Medical Center.
