Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Academic and Clinical Instruction

  • Support faculty members in creating a safe, effective, and student-centered clinical learning environment.
  • Assist faculty in planning, preparing, and delivering clinical teaching sessions, laboratory activities, and practical demonstrations.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, laboratory manuals, activity sheets, models, and other instructional resources.
  • Deliver selected teaching activities under the supervision of faculty members using appropriate instructional methods, including demonstrations, discussions, simulations, and role-playing.
  • Facilitate clinical skills laboratory sessions and supervise students during practical activities.
  • Provide individual and small-group academic support to reinforce learning outcomes and clinical competencies.
  • Monitor student participation and provide feedback to faculty regarding student progress.
  • Assist in maintaining clinical laboratories, equipment, teaching materials, and simulation resources to ensure operational readiness.
  • Support faculty in implementing curriculum-related activities and educational initiatives.

2. Assessment and Examination Coordination

  • Coordinate activities related to the College Assessment Office to ensure the effective planning and delivery of student assessments.
  • Organize and administer written, practical, and clinical examinations in accordance with College policies and examination regulations.
  • Coordinate the Progress Test, including scheduling, logistics, examination material preparation, invigilation arrangements, and result compilation.
  • Coordinate the International Foundations of Medicine (IFOM) Examination, ensuring compliance with National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) requirements, examination procedures, timelines, and reporting.
  • Assist with examination preparation, candidate registration, room allocation, examiner coordination, and post-examination documentation.
  • Maintain examination records while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with institutional policies.

3. Student Admissions Support

  • Coordinate the admission process for prospective medical students.
  • Organize and administer admission examinations, including scheduling, candidate communication, invigilation, and result processing.
  • Coordinate admission interview logistics and provide administrative support to admission committees.
  • Maintain accurate admission records and prepare reports as required.

4. Academic Administration

  • Coordinate academic schedules related to clinical teaching, assessments, and educational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of teaching activities, examinations, student attendance, and clinical training documentation.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation related to academic and assessment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with University policies, accreditation requirements, and quality assurance standards.
  • Assist with the organization of workshops, faculty development activities, orientation sessions, and other educational events.
  • Support departmental committees and participate in College initiatives when required.

5. General Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of student records, examination materials, and institutional information.
  • Foster a professional, respectful, and collaborative learning environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to interns, student assistants, and volunteers when assigned.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department, Program Director, or Dean that are consistent with the nature of the position.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or an equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of internship is required.

Experience

  • Experience as a clinical tutor or clinical skills instructor in a medical education institution is preferred.
  • Experience supporting practical or clinical teaching sessions for undergraduate medical students is desirable.
  • Experience in examination coordination, assessment administration, or academic operations within higher education is an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Sound knowledge of clinical medicine and medical education principles.
  • Familiarity with clinical skills laboratories and simulation-based teaching.
  • Knowledge of examination administration and assessment procedures.
  • Ability to understand and use medical and scientific terminology accurately.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Strong project coordination and administrative abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and academic management systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and administrative staff.
