Welding Inspector

We are Sisco Jobs, a recruitment consultancy based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. We are hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Welding Inspector in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role requires strong knowledge of welding inspection, welding procedures, quality requirements, applicable codes and inspection documentation. Welding inspectors typically verify weld quality, procedures, welder qualifications and compliance with applicable specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect welding activities before, during and after welding to verify compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
  
• Review WPS and relevant welding documentation before commencement of work.
  
• Verify joint preparation, fit-up, materials, welding consumables and applicable welding parameters.
  
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of completed welds against drawings and acceptance requirements.
  
• Verify welder qualifications and ensure approved welders are deployed for applicable welding activities.
  
• Coordinate/review applicable NDT activities and inspection records.
  
• Identify weld defects and non-conformities and support appropriate corrective actions.
  
• Prepare and maintain accurate welding inspection and quality documentation.
  

Required Skills

1. Welding Inspection: Strong knowledge of pre-weld, in-process and post-weld inspection.
   
2. WPS/PQR: Ability to understand and verify welding procedure requirements.
   
3. Codes & Standards: Working knowledge of applicable welding codes and specifications.
   
4. Visual Inspection: Ability to identify weld discontinuities and assess workmanship.
   
5. Inspection Documentation: Ability to prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain traceable records.
   

Preferred Skills

• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS CWI or equivalent welding inspection certification.
  
• Knowledge of NDT/NDE methods and reports.
  
• Familiarity with standards such as ASME, AWS and API, depending on project requirements. AWS identifies CWI and NDT/NDE credentials as relevant welding-inspection qualifications.
