VIDEO / LED DEPARTMENT

Role summary

Owns the video and LED department — LED walls, projection, switching, processing, cameras, and signal flow. The most capex-heavy department in most modern AVL companies.

Key responsibilities

•        Spec LED walls, projection systems, and broadcast / video infrastructure for jobs.

•        Maintain LED panel inventory, processors, switchers, projectors, cameras, and comms.

•        Own capex planning for video — typically the largest single line item.

•        Set processing, calibration, and signal-flow standards.

•        Manage freelance video engineer / TD roster.

•        Lead on disguise / Notch / media server workflows where applicable.

•        Approve overtime and shift assignments for the video team.

Qualifications & experience

•        8+ years professional video / broadcast / LED experience.

•        Expert on at least one major switcher platform (Ross Carbonite, Grass Valley, Blackmagic ATEM Constellation, Roland).

•        Deep knowledge of LED processing (Brompton Tessera, Novastar, Megapixel).

•        Experience with disguise, Notch, or comparable media server / pixel-mapping platforms.

•        Familiar with UAE corporate / hotel / government event production conventions.

KPIs

•        Video / LED gear utilisation

•        Gross margin contribution

•        Pixel pitch inventory mix vs market demand (1.9mm, 2.6mm, 3.9mm)

•        LED panel failure / repair rate
