Role Overview

State Street is seeking a Vice President, Relationship Manager to join its Relationship Management team in the Middle East, one of the firm’s strategic growth markets. Reporting to the Head of Relationship Management, Managing Director, this role will be responsible for managing, supporting, and deepening relationships with institutional clients across the region, helping deliver a coordinated “One State Street” experience and contributing to the firm’s long-term growth agenda.

The successful candidate will be a commercially minded VP Relationship Manager with strong institutional markets knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work across global teams to deliver high-quality solutions for clients. The role requires a balance of strategic client coverage, disciplined execution, risk awareness, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing, high-profile regional market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deepen relationships with existing institutional clients across the Middle East, ensuring a high standard of engagement, responsiveness, and service coordination.
  • Support the Head of Relationship Management in developing and executing client strategies aligned with State Street’s regional growth priorities.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, understanding their strategic objectives, operating models, priorities, and evolving requirements.
  • Work closely with Sales, Product, Client Service, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and other internal partners to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships by connecting client needs with relevant State Street capabilities across asset servicing, markets, data, technology, and investment solutions.
  • Contribute to pipeline development, account planning, revenue growth, client retention, and strategic relationship reviews.
  • Support responses to RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, client presentations, briefing materials, and senior management updates.
  • Coordinate internal preparation for client meetings, track agreed actions, and ensure timely follow-up across all relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong governance discipline, including accurate client records, pipeline updates, meeting notes, relationship plans, and risk-related documentation.
  • Ensure all client engagement and business activities are conducted in line with State Street policies, regulatory expectations, fiduciary standards, and the firm’s risk excellence framework.


Experience And Qualifications

  • Meaningful experience in relationship management, client coverage, sales, business development, or client service within financial services, asset servicing, asset management, custody, capital markets, or related institutional businesses.
  • Strong understanding of institutional clients in the Middle East, including sovereign wealth funds, official institutions, pension funds, asset managers, family offices, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior client relationships and navigate complex stakeholder environments across regions, functions, and cultures.
  • Experience supporting strategic account plans, revenue growth initiatives, client retention efforts, RFPs, due diligence processes, and executive-level client materials.
  • Sound knowledge of investment operations, custody, fund services, data solutions, markets, or investment management products would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, law, or a related discipline; professional qualifications or postgraduate study would be beneficial.

  • Cultural awareness and understanding of relationship-led business development in the Middle East.


Leadership Expectations

The Vice President will be expected to operate as a senior member of the regional relationship management team, demonstrating ownership, sound judgement, and the ability to represent State Street with credibility. The role will require proactive engagement with clients and internal partners, disciplined follow-through, and a strong contribution to the firm’s strategic growth ambitions in the Middle East.
